I love how it made the movie closer to Greek mythology。

A must for any Disney fan!A beautiful symphony of character growth for Meg! Even though it’s set in Ancient Greece everything is very relatable! Give this a chance please!! You’ll love it 。

Anita

Was it the best story ever told? No。 BUT I love the moral。

Not sure how I feel about this。 The characters were SUPER wooden at times (it’s based on a Disney movie, so I’m not sure what I expected) but the ending made a tear up, so well done, book。

Wow。 Honestly, at first, I was kinda slow on reading it and I have no idea why。 But I picked the book back up again three days ago, gave it another shot and I was completely absorbed by it。 Meg's character development throughout her journey!! And when I tell you I almost screamed out loud when a certain character appeared hehe Wow。 Honestly, at first, I was kinda slow on reading it and I have no idea why。 But I picked the book back up again three days ago, gave it another shot and I was completely absorbed by it。 Meg's character development throughout her journey!! This one wasn't a favorite。 It moved incredibly slow, and I found myself just not caring about the story by the end。 This one wasn't a favorite。 It moved incredibly slow, and I found myself just not caring about the story by the end。 。。。more

I love Disney!!! I haven’t read a retelling on Hercules/Meg/Hades yet。 So I was excited to read this one。 And it was great。 Makes me want to get a copy of the Disney cartoon Hercules and watch it now!!

It’s cute。 But if you’re expecting dark or maturely twisted, keep your distance。 It has a juvenile voice, nicknames that quickly become puke-worthy and a lesson learned in love。 It’s a story that would make my middle school self giddy。 Simply put: It’s cute。

I loved Meg in the movie and this story that takes place right after the movie is one I won't forget! I would love to see this on the big screen as its a direct sequel on how Meg can become a goddess。 It was exciting and dangerous and just so good!! I couldn't put it down。 The pacing was perfect and I can't wait for more of these twisted tales。 I loved Meg in the movie and this story that takes place right after the movie is one I won't forget! Meg is one of my favorite Disney characters, so I was thrilled to see this book。 I liked her quest and seeing the familiar characters。 Instead of retelling the story, this story is like a sequel to the movie, which is so fun。

I love the Twisted Tales series but any of them that come from this author just fall flat。 Meg is one of my all time favorite Disney characters and this just wasn’t the Meg I know and love。 The references to Greek culture felt forced and didn’t blend well into the story and the storyline itself wasn’t very interesting。 Pretty disappointed with this addition to the series。

。。。more

If you are like me and love Meg then this book is definitely for you I find that there isn’t a lot of descent Hercules merchandise or anything like that around this was the first book I read in the Twisted Tales series and is an absolute favourite book of mine

Once again, this was more of a sequel than a twist on the classic tale。 The twist is more at the end of the original story leading to this story focused around Meg instead of Hercules。 I did enjoy the story。 The author developed a back story for Meg and has some flashback scenes throughout to help us understand who she is and how she got to where she was in the original Disney story。 I find that it parallels the original nicely in the sense that it's a hero's journey。 We see many beloved charact Once again, this was more of a sequel than a twist on the classic tale。 The twist is more at the end of the original story leading to this story focused around Meg instead of Hercules。 I did enjoy the story。 The author developed a back story for Meg and has some flashback scenes throughout to help us understand who she is and how she got to where she was in the original Disney story。 I find that it parallels the original nicely in the sense that it's a hero's journey。 We see many beloved characters, dive deeper into some of the side characters, and are introduced to many new ones as well。 At the heart, it's a story about love and there's some good life lessons within。 。。。more

Really good book, wish the movie had ended with this instead of the “true ending”

I loved this spin on a classic。 It was great to read and see Meg grow as a person but also kept that sassy attitude she is known for。 Overcoming obstacles to prove her love for Hercules and be admitted to Olympus。 Would highly recommend!

A fun, simple read, with a few cameos from some other Greek myth favourites! I enjoyed learning more about Megaras background and seeing a Herculean quest with a female protagonist。

I thoroughly enjoyed Go the Distance! It felt like a Hercules sequel and really made me want to watch the movie。 I enjoyed the additional mythology stories being woven in and referenced throughout Meg's journey。 I think what kept this from being a 5 star read for me was the writing feeling like it was more Middle Grade than Young Adult at times。 However, Jen Calonita perfectly captured the characters of Megara, Hades, Phil, Hercules, etc。 so overall, I am quite content。 I thoroughly enjoyed Go the Distance! I ended up reading this in the hardcover format and forgot to leave the digital review here。 I liked this continuation of the Hercules Disney story。 It is VERY YA but I think someone who wanted to get more into mythology at a young age this is a good stepI do think Meg was a bit annoying about the whole quest thing but it was a quick read and typical Disney

Oh, just to rescue her ex's current wife from the Underworld。 The ex-boyfriend she saved by selling her soul to Hades。 The ex-boyfriend who immediately moved on to someone else while she was stuck in the Underworld。 Can Meg put her past behind her and use her quick-wit to defeat monsters and gods alike, including the nefarious Hades? Will she finally figure out her place and contribution to the world? Or will her fear of commitment have her running away from an eternity of godhood with Herc? Seeing things from Meg’s perspective was pretty cool。 It’s easy to watch Hercules and think they live happily ever after, but things are never so clean cut and simple。 I’ve always enjoyed her sass and independence but getting to see a more vulnerable side to her in this story was so incredibly refreshing。 I’ll admit to being a little skeptical about this story。 Our brave, strong Megara risks all for a boy - Wonder Boy he may be, he’s still a boy - despite all her rantings about love and partnership。 But like with her other books for this series, Calonita knocked it out the park。 It was the perfect blend of strength and weakness, fear and happiness。 For me, it felt a little rushed at the end so I would’ve like the final events to have been drawn out a little bit but this book is still good as is。 A nice easy and enjoyable read。 Overall, Go the Distance is another great addition to the Twisted Tales series! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This one was interesting in a few different ways。 First, the novel begins after the original story had ended。 I believe this is the first Twisted Tale to do so, and I really enjoyed that aspect。 Additionally, the background set for Meg fits the movie and gives her so much more depth and growth。 Finally, the interweaving of true Greek legends with the story added a really nice touch and an extra dimension in which to appreciate the story。

Fun story。 Clever characters。 Some of it was a bit cheesy, but it made me cry at the end, so obviously it managed some good emotional impact。
